In spring 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic made life really tough for many people. At Burrell Behavioral Health, we wanted to help people in ways that were right for the times. So, in just one week, four brilliant psychologists teamed up to create a program focused on brain health. This program, called Be Well Initiatives, aimed to help people feel better and connect with each other.
These psychologists used the newest ideas from brain science and their own experiences from helping people in therapy. They wanted to build a community where people could support each other. They started by having live talks on social media every day, and this has kept growing.
When many of us were scared and feeling alone, Be Well became a place where we could find connection, hope, and strength. We keep this spirit alive at Be Well because we know that we all survive best in healing connection.
Since 2020, our world and Be Well have both changed. We know that being human can be hard, amazing, and sometimes confusing. Be Well keeps growing by listening to people we connect with to find new ways to take care of our brains. We do this with our Be Well Bells, helping organizations care for their people, and educating through community events, creating more access to care. As the world keeps changing, we know we have to change how we take care of ourselves too.
